Your Research Assignment in a COMPANY Directory info Trends:competition, outlook, suppliers, performance regulatory Financial: stocks, dividends, shares outstanding, balance sheet, profit/loss RATIOS, Human Element: corporate culture management style, employees/benefits social responsibility Marketing: strategy INDUSTRY Trends Ratios NOW: Where do you find the information? How do you divide the work?

  7. Criteria for Company Choice List First Things First • Public Private? -Subsidiary? Parent-National?- International • Same Industry -Financials –stocks for 3 yrs?-Mergers? Bankruptcy? Criteria for Finding Company Information scholarly articles, magazines, trade journals, news, press releases, creditable websites: industry, union, association, personal interviews Beyond the Company website

Do a quick check to see if your company is in the following sources: Mint Global, Reference USA, Lexis Nexis Company Dossier, Value Line, Standard & Poor’s Net Advantage. • 2.Which database will give you shares outstanding? Can you find dividends and monthly stock prices for your company • 3. Check Morningstar, Value Line, One Source Global Business Browser (via Reference USA) for an Analyst Report
