There is a genuine public concern regarding the increase of greenhouse gases. A great deal of research and technology development focuses on the capture and underground storage of industrial quantities of CO2. However the most important part of the carbon cycle relies on natural bio-geological processes. The geological perspective provides the opportunity to investigate these processes and their consequences at different time scales. This is the first year EAGE is extending the Student Lecture Tour to the Middle East. Prof. Alain-Yves Huc from the Institut Français du Pétrole (IFP) will focus on the processes involved in the carbonate formation and their evolution with geological time. Where & When: Thursday 15 November 2007 - 10:00 – 11:00 Lecture at male campus (room 100) - 12:00 – 13:00 Lecture at female campus (room 8037)
