Why did they create the European Coal and Steel Community? • They wanted to secure peace and stability after World War II between the victorious and vanquished nations following the war
What happened with the European Economic Community that inspired the making of the European Union? • The EEC called for a wider common market • The EEC got rid of customs duties between the countries. • The result of this type of cooperation between the member nations was working!

What is the relationship between the member nations of the European Union? • the members of the E.U. are a part of a partnership in which the member nations work together to achieve economic, enviromental, political, and defense goals that would not be possible working alone. • Examples: Citizens can freely move to another country(no border control). They can live and work in any other EU nation. They can even vote in local elections even if they aren’t citizens of the country.
