Superscripts and Subscripts • Superscript-when a letter or number is keyed immediately above another character. • Commonly used in math when keying exponents • Example: 42 • Subscript-when a letter or number is keyed immediately below another character. • Commonly used in science when keying elements and compounds • Example: H2O
Find and Replace • Allows you to quickly locate and replace words in a document • Helpful when locating specific words in long documents
What is Email? • Email (electronic mail) provides a way for people to communicate electronically through the Internet. • People use email for business and personal communication. • Email messages are sent from one electronic device to another. • Messages can be sent between computers, mobile phones, PDAs(personal digital assistants, as well as other electronic devices. • The attachment feature in an email program allows different file formats to be exchanged between users such as word processing, databases, spreadsheets, graphics, etc…

What is Modified Block Format? Modified Block Format- A letter format that places the return address, date, complimentary closing, and keyed name are typed at center point (not centered). • Use Mixed or Open Punctuation • Mixed: A colon or comma is keyed after the salutation and a comma is keyed after the complimentary closing. • Open: The colon or comma is not used after the salutation and the comma is not keyed after the complimentary closing. • Use Indented or Block Paragraphs • Indented:The first line of each paragraph is indented 5spaces (½ inch) using the tab key • Block: Paragraphs are not indented. All lines of the paragraph begin at the left margin.

Unbound Academic Report MLA Style • Use a standard font style and size i.e. Times New Roman-12point. • Use 1-inch top, bottom and side margins. • Left align a heading which includes the student name, teacher name, class name, and the date. • The date is keyed in military style: Day Month Year • Double space the entire report, including the heading. • Center the title with initial capital letters followed by a double space. • Indent paragraphs.
