WHAT IS NTSE • A National level scholarship program in India to identify and recognize students with high intellect and academic talent. • It is one of the most prestigious examinations of India. • It provides scholarship to selected students from 10th till post graduation level.
It’s a matter of pride, prestige and honor BENEFITS OF NTSE • Scholarships are awarded to NTSE scholars by the central Govt. • It provides you a privilege while taking admission into IIT’s, top american universities, high rank Govt. exams such as UPSC and SSB. • Nanyang Technological University & National University of Singapore gives distinguished preference to NTSE scholar, for admission
Eligibility Criteria for Stage 1: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA • Students of Indian Origin, studying in Class X are eligible to appear for NTSE. • They should have a minimum of 60% marks (General Category) and 55% (SC, ST and PH category candidates), in their Class IX (last academic year). • Candidate must be a student in a recognized school in the respective State or Union Territory.
Eligibility Criteria for Stage 2: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA • Based on Stage I marks, students recommended by state, are eligible for the Stage-II to be held by NCERT at National level.
HOW TO APPLY FOR NTSE • Visitthe official website of NTSE, www.ncert.nic.in • Click on link‘Apply for NTSE 2020’. • Candidates have to fill the following credentials: Candidates Name, Date of birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, Educational Qualification etc. • After filling all the credentials click on ‘submit’. • Download the NTSE Application Form. • Candidates canalso get their Application Form from the office of Liaison Officer
NTSE EXAM PATTERN • NTSE exam is conducted in two-stages- Stage 1 and stage 2. • Stage 1 is conducted at the state level andstage 2 is a national level examination. • NTSE exam pattern for eachstage is divided into two sections:- • MAT (Mental Ability Test)-consisting of logical reasoning and aptitude • SAT (Scholastic Ability Test)- consisting of Science, Social Science and Mathematics. • Both the above sections are of 100 marks each.
For Stage 1: For Stage 2: NTSE SYLLABUS (IN BRIEF) Stage 1 examination is governed by the state, so students must prepare from the respective state board books completely. Stage 2 examination is conducted at the central level, so it completely emphasizes on the topics given in NCERT.
