Performance Management • Performance on all contracts is RAG rated by commissioning team based on spend and KPIs • Performance of interventions and National Indicator Performance is reported to relevant sub boards and thematic boards and ultimately to PIE • Boards look at performance of interventions and correlation to National Indicator performance
3rd sector and community engagement • Community and Voluntary Sector Involvement in every step of the process through the CEN: • Outcomes agreed in partnership through the LAA • Contribution to the evidence base and devising of the intervention through the design teams • Core membership of the procurement panels • Key members of the performance management executive (PIE) • Developing a third sector commissioning strategy for the borough

Strategic commissioning: Lessons learnt • Leadership from the council, shared and agreed with the Local Strategic Partnership • A collective understanding of Strategic Commissioning • A clear methodology for Strategic Commissioning, with transparent decision making • Methodology to include for adaptable design teams that include compulsory involvement of community representatives • To acknowledge the change management needed – and engage with local stakeholders (Statutory and third sector) about this • To resource the commissioning process itself, do not add the task to the day job • To be open to challenge • To streamline procurement and link with corporate procurements • Clear, transparent and well managed Performance Management, with a risk escalation process.
