Know You’re Saved! 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7, NIV)
Know You’re Saved! • 8If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8, NIV)
Know You’re Saved! 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9, NIV)
Know You’re Saved! • 10If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word has no place in our lives. (1 John 1:10, NIV)
Know You’re Saved! • The First Definite Test of Obedience. • “if we walk in the light, as he is in the light” (1:7). • Once we were controlled by the sinful nature (Eph 2:1-2; Rom 7:5).
Know You’re Saved! • 1As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, (Eph 2:1, NIV)
Know You’re Saved! 2in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. (Eph 2:2, NIV)

Know You’re Saved! • Love of other Christians is the product of the love of God. • Fellowship with your brothers is the proof of fellowship with God.
Know You’re Saved! 2. 7… the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. (1 John 1:7) • It results in forgiveness, restoration & the reestablishment of love.
Know You’re Saved! • Christianity is not a “walk alone” religion. • You can’t get the blood without the fellowship.
Know You’re Saved! • The Second Definite Test of obedience. • 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteous-ness. (1 John 1:9, NIV)

Know You’re Saved! • Do you see the relationship between confession and forgiveness? • Forgiveness comes because of confession. • It’s what keeps people from experiencing the fullness of God!
Know You’re Saved! • Confession has a second component, 9If we confess our sins, God will purify us from all unrighteousness (1:9).
