This is a very important step in the life of every Christian; it is from this point on that every Christian adheres to a central tenet of the Catholic Faith. Let us remember the importance of the faith in our own lives. Without it the essential spiritual dimension would be missing from our lives. Many thanks to everyone who has helped to make this day so special for the children on their First Communion day.
Please Remember to… • Switch off all phones. • Not to take photos or videos during the Mass. • Join in the singing. • Subtitles will be provided.

An Chéad Léacht / First reading Gliondar Iáras Bhí ríméad ar Iáras agus Hannah nuair a rugadh iníon dóibh. Thug siad Abigail uirthi. D’ fhás sí agus d’fhás sí. Bhí bród orthu nuair a thóg sí a céad choischéim, nuair a dúirt sí a céad fhocal, agus nuair a bhí sí ag fás níos airde agus níos airde. Bhí gliondar orthu nuair a bhíodh sí ag imirt agus ag déanamh gáire lena cairde. Nuair a bhí sise sásta, bhí siadsan sásta leis.
Ach lá amháin, nuair a bhí Abigail dhá bhliana déag d’aois, stop an gáire agus an sport. Chuaigh Abigail isteach ina seomra léi féin. Luigh sí siar ar a leaba. Dhruid sí a súile. Bhí a fhios ag Iáras agus Hannah go raibh cuidiú de dhíth orthu. Chuaigh Iáras go dtí Íosa agus dúirt sé “Góitse go tapa.” Tháinig Íosa ach dúirt na comharsan, “Tá tú ró-mhall.” Chuaigh Íosa isteach i seomra Abigail agus rug sé lámh uirthi. Ghaoigh sé uirthi, “A chailín bhig, éirigh!” D’amharc Iáras agus Hannah le hiontas nuair a d’oscail sí a súile, rinne sí miongháire agus d’éirigh sí amach as an leapa. “Rinne Dia rudaí iontacha domh,” arsa Hannah. “Is beannaithe ainm Dé,” a d’fheagair Iáras. Sin é Briathar Dé Pobal:Buíochas le Dia

2. Tugann tú dom bia, beannaíonn tú mé gach lá, Iarrann tú orm suí go deo, I do bhaile féin go sámh, Treoraíonn tú mé. Is é an Tiarna m’Aoire, a thugann aire dom, Tá aisling lán de ghrá aige dom, aisling lán de ghrá, Treoraíonn sé mé.
An Dara Léacht / Second reading A reading from the first letter of Paul to the Corinthians (11:23-26 ) On the night before he was betrayed. And it came from the Lord himself. He took some bread in his hands. Then after he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is given up for you. Eat this and remember me.”
After the meal, Jesus took a cup of wine in his hands and said, “This is my blood, and with it God makes his new agreement with you. Drink this and remember me.” The Lord meant that when you eat this bread and drink from this cup, you tell about his death until he comes. Sin é Briathar Dé Pobal:Buíochas le Dia

Yes Lord, you are holy: you are kind to us and to all men. For this we thank you. We thank, above all for your Son, Jesus Christ. You sent him into this world because people had turned away from you and no longer loved each other. He opened our eyes and our hearts to understand that we are brothers and sisters and you are Father of us all. He now brings us together to one table and asks us to do what he did.
Father we ask you to bless these gifts of bread and wine and make them holy. Change them for us into the body and blood of Jesus Christ, your Son. On the night before he died for us, he had supper for the last time with his disciples. He took bread and gave you thanks. He broke the bread and gave it to his friends saying: GLACAIGÍ AGUS ITHIGÍ UILE É SEO: OIR IS É SEO MO CHORP A THABHARFAR AR BHUR SON.’
In the same way. He took a cup of wine. He gave thanks and handed the cup to his disciples saying: GLACAIGÍ AGUS ÓLAIGÍ UILE AISTI SEO: OIR IS Í SEO CAILÍS MO CHUID FOLA, FUIL AN NUATHIOMNA SHÍORAÍ. DOIRTFEAR Í AR BHUR SON AGUS AR SON AN CHINE DHAONNA CHUN MAITHIÚNAS NA BPEACAÍ. Then he said to them: DÉANAIGÍ É SEO I GCUIMHNE ORMSA.
God our Father, we remember with joy all that Jesus did to save us. In this holy sacrifice which he gave as a gift to his church, we remember his death and resurrection. Father in heaven accept us together with your beloved Son. He willingly died for us, but you raised him to life again. Tugaimid buíochas duit, á rá: Pobal:Glóir do Dhia sna harda.
Jesus now lives with you in glory, but he is also here on earth, among us. Tugaimid buíochas duit, á rá: Pobal:Glóir do Dhia sna harda. One day he will come again in glory and in his kingdom there will be no more sadness. Tugaimid buíochas duit, á rá: Pobal:Glóir do Dhia sna harda..
