The Assignment • Each student will create their own original film, approximately 2 minutes long. • Your film must have human characters. • You cannot copy anyone else’s work. • You must use all the information in this PowerPoint to make your film better. • The film will not have sound because we don’t have the right equipment for sound.
The Story and the Storyboard • You will write your own original story and create a storyboard. • The storyboard will show camera angles, shots, camera movements, and characters’ movements. • The storyboard will include captions. • See the next few slides for examples of storyboards.
Camera angles, shots, and movement • If you pay attention to commercials, TV shows, and movies you’ll see that the camera rarely stays still. Instead, it moves left to right, right to left, up, down, and zooms in and out. • The following slides will show you some common camera angles, shots, and camera movement. • You should use each of these in your film.
