  5. Other (specify) • Layoffs • Backlash against targeted minorities • Short term changes were made, but not enforced for the long run. • Greater awareness of current events affecting Americans lives • Huge impact on our industry - travel. Affecting job stability. • We are in the travel industry, so meeting our goals have been much more of a challenge than before 9/11. • Distrust of foreign born employees. • Budget Cuts/Exercises • Downsizing • In Wisconsin, I don't believe that any of these are "lasting" changes. I think they happened immediately following but haven't really been followed through on.

  6. Other (specify) (continued) • Much stronger family value - work/family balance has become family/work balance. • Can't use interns/externs without background check done. • Employees are more willing to 'sacrifice' privacy in exchange for security. • More lay-offs • More disaster recovery planning • Directly after 9/11, there was a heightened awareness of security, less travel, curtailed events, etc. The farther we get away from 9/11, the less this seems the issue. • Layoffs and Downsizing • Workers comp rates have increased • 1st, Significant increase in teamwork, driven by increase need to succeed. 2nd, immigration standards are more stringent and global recruiting curtailed. • My unemployment

  7. Other (specify) (continued) • Heightened awareness of the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) list and how it affects who we do business with and hire. • Greater movement of people from one region to another, usually to be closer to extended family rather than better job opportunities. • Interest in long term care protection
