CASE STUDY A 17 year old male underwent emergency Rt. Sided FTP decompressivecraniectomy to relieve intracranial pressure following a closed head injury sustained during a motor vehicle accident.
CUSTOM CRANIAL IMPLANTS. Some months later, as the patients condition improved and patient became fully conscious, I decided that CUSTOM CRANIOPLASTIC IMPLANT from ANATOMICS would best correct the huge cranial defect. This would restore his cranial contour and provide protection for his brain for the rest of his life. .

PROCEDURE The 2D CT scan and the 3D image rendered using AnatomicsPro software demostrated the extent of the cranial defects. A BioModel was created and then used to create the custom acrylic implant.
SURGERY The overlying scalp was then removed from the patients dura,and the edges of the craniotomy defect was identified. The Anatomic implant was then inserted over the defect ,requiring no modification of either the bone or the implant. The implant was secured to the skull around the defect margin using titanium mini-plates and screws .
