2 AI-BASED CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE TECHNOLOGIES ARE BOOSTING MARKET VALUE Last week, analyst firm Gartner released estimates on the projected value of AI over the course of 2018. Their findings revealed that the global value of AI will total $1.2 trillion: a 70% increase over 2017. They attribute part of this increase to a strong growth in the customer experience sector. “Virtual agents, for example, can take over simple customer requests and tasks from call centers, reducing the cost for companies in offering customer helplines. By taking over the simple issues, human operators are then free to dedicate their time to complicated issues, which, in turn, may improve customer service.” LEARN MORE Source: https://www.zdnet.com/article/artificial-intelligence-will-be-worth-1-2-trillion-in-2018/
3 HOW AI WILL REVOLUTIONIZE MEDICINE More than 1,000 worldwide leaders in the healthcare industry met at the World Medical Innovation Forum (WMIF) 2018. During WMIF 2018, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang sat down with Dr. Keith Dreyer, Chief Data Scientist at PHS, for a fireside chat to discuss AI and its role in the industry. “In the future…these machines will be augmented by supercomputers, turning them into modern, amazing medical instruments, just as cloud computing has done for cell phones.” LEARN MORE Source: https://www.technologyreview.com/s/611017/how-a-gaming-chip-could-someday-save-your-life/?linkId=100000002316256
4 DEEP LEARNING CAN ACCELERATE THE QUEST FOR CHEAP, CLEAN FUSION ENERGY William Tang, principal research physicist at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, is one of the world’s foremost experts on the science of fusion energy. 5 MACHINE LEARNING TO ACCELERATE YOUR IOT INITIATIVES As more and more businesses begin to flock to the Internet of Things (IoT), one thing remains constant: the need for data. “Data is the new oil, and an enterprise IoT deployment is an easy way to get a lot of it from many different sources. But in the end, it's what a business does with its data that really matters.” “By putting that data to work, organizations can improve efficiency, boost the bottom line, and drive innovation...that's where machine learning comes in.” LEARN MORE Source: https://www.zdnet.com/article/how-to-use-machine-learning-to-accelerate-your-iot-initiatives/
