Extraverted thrive on order and continuity. (Butt 2012) • It surprised me that I was only slightly extraverted on the percentage scale. I worked on being more outgoing in my younger years to achieve positive networking at work. • In team meetings, I can listen for a short period but if the meeting has no direction or leadership I have to step up and take control. • I am a by the book person. This was especially good for my type of work which has rules and regulations for everything. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
The Supervisor2 • Most of my career has been in a supervisor role. I tend to take charge when needed and will be the spokesperson for the team. • When playing on my field I have confidence in my abilities and ready to defend it. • Sensing uses the five senses over intuition1 • Uses senses to process and compare data to what we have stored in memory. • Uses lessons learned and past experience to assist with decision making. • Deals with facts as basis for decisions. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
Thinking over feeling1 • Decisions are based on logically facts, make the decision and move on. • Utilizes rules as basis for gathering information. • Believes in concrete evidence on decision making. • Judging over preceiving1 • Seeks out order, planning is important. • Planning gives direction to achieve the goal. • Do not ponder on many choices, make a decision and go with it. • Seeks closure on projects with above average results. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
MBTI type is my personality. I believed the percentages to be off a little, especially on the extravert vs. introvert side. This personality worked well with my career choice without knowing at the time I made the decision. Military and government work suited my abilities and satisfied my need. Budget work satisfied the planning, organizing and results I needed for a sense of accomplishment. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
EQ Assessment • Self assessment base on the five competencies of emotional intelligence3 • Self-awareness • Self-management • Motivation • Empathy • Relationship Management ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2

ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
Bases on the test results, I scored twelve which indicates some attention should be given to self-management3. • Motivation is the ability to use your deepest emotions to move and guide you towards your goals3. • Based on the results of this test, my score was fourteen which is a strength. • Motivation is on the lower end of the strength scale which indicates some improvement can be achieved. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
Empathy is the ability to sense, understand and respond to what other people are feeling3. • Based on these test results, I scored a fourteen with indicates a strength. • Empathy is at the low end of the strength scale and allows for some improvement in this area. • Relationship Management is the ability to manage, influence and inspire emotions in others3. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
Based on the results of this test, I scored an eleven which indicates some attention can be given in this area3. • The overall results of the EQ assessment are not a validated psychometric test and the results may vary depending on your mood while taking the test3. • My personal perception of this test is the results would be different if I were still in the work environment. • I concur with Goldman’s theory that emotional intelligence allows you to be sucessful3. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
The assessment categories are driving factors that allow you to excel. They are the effect of internal standards that give you the discipline to bridge the gap into the next higher level of management3. ESTJ and EQ ASSESSMENT, ASMT 3.2
