Engineering Education • In addition of the closer research interaction, Kao et. al. [2008] showed that the mutual exchange of culture and ideas was relevant; • Riley et. al. [2008] described a study conducted for improving the retention rate, using suitable trends and strategies to reduce the attrition rates, and examining the causes of attrition, and the preparedness of incoming students; • Bishop et. al. [2008] described some notes based on the own experience, to better prepare the transition of student from high school to university; • Nagy et.al. [2009] described some computational and innovative techniques with the aim of supporting different types of students or trainees.

Conclusions • It is presented a case of… • International Cooperation in Engineering Education, • aiming to complement the existing approaches in the different Colleges of IPPortalegre, … • within the good practices in the field of support to students from the CoE/UMichigan. • The Support to Students’ workshop is addressing… • The procedures at the CoE/UMichigan, and comparing with IPPortalegre; • The Honor Code, and its adoption to the local context; • The Supplementary Instruction and its subjects; • The contents electronic dissemination, the e-learning issues, and the Bologna concerns and necessities; • The external assessment was developed, with general satisfactory results. International Cooperation fostersEngineering Education, innovation and creativity.
