Atmosphere Presentation by Jerry Pořízka & Lucy Paříkova
Atmosphere • Fluent cover of Earth • Into 560 kilometers above surface Earth • is composed of molecules. • Air is matter • Air is composed of different gasses • Nitrogen – N2 • Oxygen – O2 • Carbon dioxide – CO2 • Water vapor – H2O (g) • Noble gasses
Atmospheric layers • Troposphere • Tropopause • Stratosphere • Ozonosphere • Mezosphere • Thermosphere • Ionosphere
Elements in the Atmosphere Oxygen - O2 • 20,95 volumetric % • Wan gas without taste and smell • In firm and liquid phase is blue • Very reactive element (reaction are mostly exotermic) • Its one of the most importatnt elements in the air • its vital for all living organisms • oxygen supports burning • Boiling point 183°C • Boiling melt 218°C • In steel bottle with blue strip
Elements in the Atmosphere Ozone – O3 • In 25 kilometer above Earth is ozzone layer which absorb ultraviolet light • It‘s gas with blue colour and bad smell • In liquid phase is dark blue • In higher concentration is deleterious for us • Ozzone is explosive • Boiling point 111,9°C • Boiling melt 192,5°C
Elements in the Atmosphere nitrogen - N2 • 78,08 volumetric % • Wan gas without taste and smell • Light gas. Lighter than air • little reactive element. Nitrogen has strong structure • Its one of the most importatnt biogenous elements. • It is part of albumin and amino-acid • Boiling point 195,8°C • Boiling melt 210°C • In steel bottle with green strip
Elements in the Atmosphere Carbon dioxide – CO2 • 0,033 volumetric % • It‘s not toxic • above concentration 10% makes sleepiness till death • in higher concentration makes burn • Boiling point -78,5°C • Boiling melt - 56,6°C
Elements in the AtmosphereWater vapor – H2O (g) • Vapour is only element which has‘nt constant value. Change with places and season • water is important for life • transport sustenance and waste matters
Physical properties • Gases are coercible • Air Molecules are in constant motion • They come in contact with surfaces – they push and press the surface – That create the air Pressure • We can measure air pressure to help us predict weather conditions around the world
Atmosphere in former times • Chemical structure atmosphere was change • Primary structure was: • N2 • NH3 • H2O • CO2 • Synthesize formaldehyde → solvent oxygen: H2O + CO2→ HCOH + O2
Atmosphere today • Today chenical structure atmosphere is: • N2 78,08% • O2 – 20,496% • CO2 – 0,033% • H2O (g) • Noble gasses – mostly Ar – 0,934% • Thanks fotosinteze is solvent oxygen • 6CO2 + 12H2O → C6H12O6 + 6O2 + 6H2O • Today is air dirty injurious gases: • H2S, Cl2, N2O, NO2 , SO2, CO,
