  2. Topic: How do RoHS standards and regulations shape domestic economies? The first anniversary of the EU RoHS There are no obvious international trade conflicts. Does the impact on world economy caused by the EU RoHS directive really fade? The answer is NO! A meaningful topic

  3. Our history of dealing with RoHS • Since 2004, maybe earlier 1. Wide and deep discussion and exchange on each level in APEC 2. Action: propagandized RoHS, assessed, rectified and improved the related industrial sectors 3. A great team of technicians

What to do • China’s example: improved the production and manufacture capacity of enterprises Through: 1. propagandizing, training, offering counseling service, guiding 2. establishing and improving related labs and test facilities 3. recommending qualified green suppliers 4. strengthening inspection and supervision on export products, etc.

  9. In the first quarter of 2007 China-EU • The trade volume between China and EU increased by 30% • Export volume is 51.5 billion USD with an increase of 34.5% • China’s first export market • A positive and optimistic result

  11. Costs 1. Expenditure 1.1 Import test equipments and instruments 1.2 In 2006, the import increased by 22.1%. Most of these instruments are imported from EU. 1.3 The minimum price is 40,000 to 60,000 USD per set, some more expensive.
