  1. Why has the affiliate couponing market abandoned the convenience store industry? If you dig much deeper into any affiliate discount coupon program (retailmenot.com, coupon.com) you will discover that there are not many if any coupons readily available for convenience stores. It looks like there is a disconnect in between the coupon affiliates and the convenience store market. If you consider just how much money is at stake it does not make any sense. $1 out of every $24 dollars is invested in this country in a convenience store. So why has the coupon affiliates deserted this channel? We have actually all been in line at the grocery store and had that lady in front of us pulling a lot of discount best discount coupon here coupons out of her little pouch bag which merely slows down the transaction time at the register. With the advent of the smart device it becomes a lot much easier to use a discount coupon. The usage pattern of all retail shop coupons is certainly in an upward trajectory and it doesn't look like it is going to slow down any time quickly. I think there is a marital relationship of sorts happening with corner store coupons and the smart device. It is estimated that upwards of 5% of sales deals within the store will include a digital voucher of some sort by the year 2019 (Gasbuddy.com). It is predicted that there will be around 1.05 billion international mobile coupon users in the world by 2019. With the ease of use the GPS place functions on smart devices and push technology improving every day it is not surprising that why store voucher usage on your mobile phone is on the increase. Digital voucher redemption is roughly 10% today. While the old fashion print or paper discount coupons have a redemption rate of 1% or less. 90% of digital coupon users redeem their coupons within simply a few days of getting them on their phones. One would think that the redemption speed will only increase for the benefit customer and redeem them earlier. It's all about speed of the transaction in this retail space.
