  1. Export Control Research with restrictions on publication or foreign national participation may be export controlled. An “export” can include physical shipment, electronic data transmission, or providing access or visual release. If this type of restriction applies, consult LBNL’s Export Control advisor before allowing access to controlled data. Where export control applies, physically transferring equipment or hard copy technical data must be shipped through Shipping & Receiving. Assure that laptops taken on travel do not include controlled technical data. If there is any doubt, contact the export control officer well in advance.
