ITIS "E. Fermi" Opened in the late 1970s, it is a technical school with two sectors: Electronics & Telecommunications and Computer Science. At present, there are 18 classes with about 500 students. In the first two years, students learn basic subjects; in the last three years, they learn basic and professional subjects. Our school logo • Education in Italy • There are four levels: • Scuola materna, not compulsory, for 3 years, from 3 to 5. • Scuola elementare, for 5 years, from 6 to 11. • Scuola media, 3 years, from 11 to 14. • Scuola superiore, 5 years, from 15 to 19 (the first two are compulsory). Students may choose from a range of ‘High Schools’: a “liceo” (classical, linguistic, artistic or scientific) or a technical school (commercial or industrial) or a professional school (vocational school).At the end of the course students undertake a state exam which gives them a “diploma” for work and also the right to attend university.
