  3. Stem Cells • Are unspecialised cells which are used for growth and repair. • Embryonic stem cells –come from early human embryos and can develop into any cell type found in the body.

  4. Stem Cells • Tissue stem cells – found in adult bone marrow, blood and skin. • These cells have a more limited potential to specialise. • E.g. Red bone marrow blood cells. Skin cells Skin cells.

  5. Meristems • Are the site of production of unspecialised cells in plants. • Mitosis takes place at meristems. • These cells have the potential to become other types of plant cells. • These cells help growth.
