Process • Process Flow Diagrams (PFD): Pictorial representation of the major pieces of equipment required with major lines of flow to & from each piece showing material balances and various process parameters etc. • Piping & Inst. Diagram (P&ID): P&ID’s Provide much detailed and mechanical information not shown on PFD’s like interconnecting Piping with size, material etc. along with the instruments. • Equipment list: The list provide details of all the equipments along with the physical dimensions and its respective various design parameters. Instrumentation • Instrument Index: Provides summary of all instruments required for the job, listing each number – identified item of each loop. • Specification Sheet: This contains information related to process and / or other instruments which is necessary for complete system engineering and also enables purchasing department for full filling their jobs efficiently. • I-O List: It specifies the number of analog input/output and digital input/output along with spares to select the number of I/O Modules for the whole system. • Wiring Drawings: Point to point wiring details such as cable terminations at control panels or terminal / junction boxes are specified.
