Multichannel prototype Double layer straw prototype consists of 96 straws (4 mm in diameter, 40 cm long) Anodes are under HV Straw contains 4-segmented anode like: 360 readout channels Readout - from segment’s contact wires only 60 transmission lines (8 buses/TL; 1 TL / 2 straws) TL size – 405 x 11 x 0.85 mm FEE located onto one side of prototype Density of analog electronics: 1channel per 1 mm 14 CBM Meeting V. Conclusions • It is possible to assembly multi segmented straws with diameter ≥ 4 mm • It is possible to produce the multi segmented straw chambers by mass-production • Signals from HV anode segments can be transmitted to the remote FEE • (up to 2 m) • Small value of the material budget is kept • Granularity of the chambers can be from 1 cm.sq. • Time-amplitude parameters and spatial resolution are kept • Improvement of the assembly technology is required 14 CBM Meeting V.
