Surveillance Project Timeline • Nov’05—Started community outreach and fundraising with South Dallas Trust Fund (SDTF) and private sources • Feb’06–Nov’06—Researched solutions • Dec.’06–May‘07—Negotiated contracts with DPD, SDTF, Private $,TXU Utilities & City of Dallas • June’07—Signed agreement with Bearcom (integrator) & began deployment • Sept 2007—Launched the system
The Dallas PD started seeing success from the system just days after the installation, when a drug deal was caught on video during Bearcom's training session for the officers.
