  1. IV & V st. MY WASTE IS MY RESPONSIBILITY

  2. Do not waste papers, it takes lots of trees and energy to produced. WE PRODUCE So lets Reduce Our Waste You can reuse many waste items, such as eggshells and old tea , fruits and vegetables peels and almost every eatable item to your compost bin. This waste then degrades and turns into compost that can be used to help your plants grow .

  3. Think how you are going to dispose the product or its packaging before you buy the product. Rechargeable Batteries Rechargeable batteries can be reused many times before they need throwing away, opposed to regular batteries that create unnecessary waste.

  4. Science and Environment LETS’S UNDERSTAND CLIMATE CHANGE "Climate" describes conditions over the long term and over an entire region. Climate is the big picture. It is the big picture of temperatures, rainfall, wind and other conditions over a larger region and a longer time than weather Is the climate of the whole earth really changing? Yes! Earth has been getting warmer—and fast. The planet is warming up fast—faster than at any time scientists know about from their studies of Earth's entire history. Should we care if Earth is getting warmer? Yes! We should because this is the only planet we have. After all it carries us on a 583-million-mile cruise around the Sun every year. It even has its own "force field." Earth has a magnetic field that protects us from killer radiation and brutal solar wind. For its life-support system,. Earth has all the air, water, and food we need. What is making Earth's climate warmer? Scientists have discovered that humans are causing this warming. Extra carbon in the atmosphere is the very same carbon that comes from burning fossil fuels, and that human greenhouse gas emissions are the primary cause. Climate change does a lot more than just heat up our planet. Climate change can also cause more intense weather. That could mean more hurricanes, floods, heat waves, droughts, and even cold spells. What is greenhouse effect and what we can do to reduce it ? CO2 in the atmosphere works to trap heat close to Earth. It helps Earth to hold on to some of the energy it gets from the Sun so the energy doesn't all leak back out into space. If it weren't for this greenhouse effect, Earth's oceans would be frozen solid. Earth would not be the beautiful blue and green planet of life that it is up to a point. But CO2 is so good at holding in heat from the Sun, that even a small increase in CO2 in the atmosphere can cause Earth to get even warmer.

  5. Everything we do affect something over here..

  6. “The lowest layer of the atmosphere caused by the presence of water vapour, carbon dioxidemethane, and certain other gases in the air. Of those gases, known as greenhouse gases”

  7. CAN WE REDUCE THE GREEN HOUSE GASES ? And the answer is YES we can…. · If you have the means to plant a tree, start digging. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and give off oxygen. A single tree will absorb approximately one ton of carbon dioxide during its lifetime. · Buying products with minimal packaging will help to reduce waste. By recycling half of your household waste, you can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually. · Wherever practical, replace regular light bulbs with compact florescent light (CFL) bulbs. Replacing just one 60-watt incandescent light bulb with a CFL will save you $30 over the life of the bulb. · Less driving means fewer emissions. Besides saving gasoline, walking and cycling are great forms of exercise. . Every gallon of gas you save not only helps your budget, it also keeps 20 pounds of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.

  8. · Save electricity and reduce global warming by turning off lights when you leave a room, and using only as much light as you need. And remember to turn off your television, stereo and computer when you're not using them. It’s also a good idea to turn off the water when you’re not using it. While brushing your teeth, shampooing the dog or washing your car, turn off the water until you actually need it for rinsing. · If one learns how to diet or take meat in reduced amounts then they can reduce their carbon footprints. Besides, growing veggies requires very less energy as compared to that of meat. Hence, changing our lifestyles is just the right step towards reducing greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. · One can also add insulation to their walls together with windows because they help lower the amount of heating which costs more than 25% the amount of energy which is needed to heat and even cool the home.

  9. · Most of the household cleaning products are considered toxic besides being petroleum based. These products are considered as the main causes of high levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.  · Consider use of pans with cast-iron instead of non-stick pans. Non-stick pans are manufactured using fluoropolymers to create the slick surfaces. This chemicals pose a threat to the environment especially when cooking at high temperatures. The chemicals produce carcinogenic compounds that are linked to various forms of cancer. · Practice rainwater harvesting. This is an important practice of ensuring water conservation. It is done by harvesting of rainwater during the wetter seasons of the year and using it during the dry seasons. This minimizes the usage of water from the water bodies. The water can be used for irrigation in our farms and also watering the lawns in our homes. · Do not use disposable cutlery specially plastic one.

  10. · Use natural products for personal care. Natural products are healthy options as they are free from toxins. Opt for natural skin care products to maintain a healthy skin. · Consume local organic foods.  Food is the most important aspect of going green.  Most of the foods that we consume come from miles away most of which is unhealthy. · Solar charges are readily available for laptops, iPods, phones and other electrical devices and they offer an impressive means of reducing your energy consumption. · Share information about recycling and energy conservation with your friends, neighbours and co-workers, and take opportunities to encourage public officials to establish programs and policies that are good for the environment.
