Who we are • We’re the Michigan “mitt” • 2M people live or work in our 13-county region (Clinton, Ingham, Eaton, Bay, Midland, Saginaw, Genesee, Shiawassee, Livingston, Lapeer, Tuscola, Sanilac, Huron) • Mid Michigan is a “non-traditional” region • True economic transformation will take longer than the 3-year WIRED Grant • We face common challenges

Role of Prima Civitas Foundation (PCF)David Hollister, President Dennis Sykes, Executive Director • At MSU’s 150th anniversary celebration, President Simon proclaimed a new era of the Land Grant university, created Prima Civitas Foundation • PCF chosen to manage the strategic impact of the MMIT to ensure that it results in significant, long-term, systemic change. • Recruitment of key stakeholder groups • Leverage resources to ensure long-term sustainability
