  3. Solution 1 Using Camp-g, a Bond graph was designed to model the problem.

  4. Bond Graph I SE 1 C O R O O C 1 1 1 SF SF SF

  5. Results After completing the bond graph, data was collected and displayed via matlab. The results calculated were comparable to the solutions as presented in the problem.

  6. Matlab Derived Code for Plotting Problem Data

  7. Matlab Graphed Results for Force

  8. Matlab Graphed Results for Displacement and Momentum

  9. Results • The value of 5.8 N on the force graph is close to the calculated value of 5.75 N. • The displacement graph illustrates a displacement of 7.1 x 10-6 m. This is an exact match as the calculated value as displayed in problem 19-169.

  10. Solution 2 Using Matlab’s modeling function Simulink, Problem 19-169 was appropriately solved. The results acquired via Simulink matched the solutions as determined in problem 19-169. Results Vertical Displacement: xm = 7.1 X 10-6m Force on Foundation: Fm = 5.75 N
