  1. 2010 World Sitting Volleyball Championship Information Presented by Cathy Williams-White Edmond Convention & Visitors Bureau

  2. Event Dates: July 8 – 19, 2010 Official Practice Dates:July 9 – 10, 2010 Official Competition Dates: July 11 – 18, 2010

  3. International Out of Town Visitors 40 teams: 12 Athletes + 4 Coaches/Staff per team = 640 Athletes & Coaches + 60 Officials/Technical Delegates + 18 Scorekeepers & Line Judges + International Media + Families here to watch their Athletes All here competing in the Olympic Spirit

  4. Housing 34 teams will be housed on UCO campus As an “Athletic Village”. The remaining 6 teams, coaches, officials, families, media & all others will be housed in Edmond hotels.

  5. Both Men & Women’s team competitions will have A & B divisions. Men – 12 teams in each division Women – 8 teams in each

  6. Some teams will arrive early or depart later than the event dates For many teams this will be their 1st time in the USA. Hospitality is a big deal! Some services are unique to these competitors Hangar Prosthetics, Sabolich, OSSO, Integris and Edmond Hospital are all on board.

  7. July 10, 2010 Opening Ceremony UCO Wantland Stadium. July 18, 2010 Closing Reception Site TBD Followed by Closing/Awards Ceremonies in UCO Wantland Stadium.

  8. This is “the” Qualifier for The 2012 London Paralympic Games

  9. This is the 1st time in the history of the WOVD Sitting Volleyball Championship that it will be in the USA. Teams will be here from across the globe…Iran & the Middle East, China, Russia, Finland, the UK, Spain, Africa, Canada etc. all to compete in the Olympic Spirit. Athlete & Public Safety, Security & Hospitality are of prime importance. Possible Homeland Security and US Travel VISA guidelines will all come in to play.
