Project History • July 18, 2011 • Phase I FFGA signed at Florida Hospital ceremonies • Nov. 3, 2011 • FDOT purchased the corridor from CSXT • Now responsible for all maintenance and operations • Jan. 27, 2012 • Groundbreaking Ceremonies held • Construction activities now underway • July 29, 2013 • FDOT took over dispatch operations on the SunRail corridor from CSXT

Costs • Land Acquisition • Cost to purchase tracks $432 million • Capital Costs • $615 million total (year of expenditure dollars) • Allocation of costs • 50% Federal $307.50 million • 25% State $153.75 million • 25% Local $153.75 million • Operating and Maintenance • State pays all operations and maintenance costs for first 7 years of operation • Local Rail Commission assumes 100% funding responsibilities in year 8

  5. Regional Benefits • Provides an alternative to I-4, especially during rush hour and “Ultimate I-4” construction • Expected to serve as many commuters as one-lane of I-4 during peak travel periods • Opens up travel and commuting options region-wide

Role of SunRail in Regional Economy • Connects existing businesses (>100,000 jobs) with expanded regional talent pool • Connects more than 500,000 residents to expanded job opportunities adjacent to stations • Enhances quality of life in cities and communities • Accommodates future growth and development around stations
