3. History • 2007 – Partnered with National Resources Defense Council • 2008 – Recycling Program Began • 2010 – Converted to Single Stream Recycling • 2011 – Composting Program Began

5. Poland Spring Green Team • Launched in 2008 in collaboration with NRDC • Volunteers, primarily local college students, collect recyclables throughout seating bowl • 20-40 volunteers each game

6. Greenopolis Kiosks • Greenopolis Recycling System offers users rewards for recycling • Points can be redeemed through 10,000 retail partners including Marriott and Domino’s Pizza • Recycling becomes fun, easy, and rewarding

7. Infrastructure • Previous recycling barrels (top photo) • Round hole in cover for bottles and cans • New recycling barrels (bottom photo) • More room for additional materials to be recycled • Can now accommodate paper and cardboard as well as larger plastic items

Composting • Composted more than 100 tons of food waste during both the 2011 and 2012 seasons • Bulk of materials come from EMC Club and State Street Pavilion Club kitchens • Aramark Executive Chefs have championed composting efforts • Sent to one of two farms for processing into organic compost; Brickends Farm in Hamilton, MA or Rocky Hill Farm in Saugus, MA

11. Food Donation • Rock and Wrap It Up • Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act – protects donors from liability when donating to non-profit organizations • 1976 Tax Reform Act – allows for deduction of half of the unrealized appreciation plus cost, not in excess of twice the cost
