  5. Carlo Rossi • - was born in 1775 in Italy • - lived in St. Petersburg since 1787 • - built the General Headquar- ters building, the Mikhaylovsky Castle, the buildings of the Synod and Senate and others. He died in 1849 in St.Petesburg.
