  9. History Of Mice Pt.1 The mouse didn’t always look the way it does. When the creator of a mouse, Douglas Engelbart, first made the mouse in 1964 (first prototype), it was a piece of wood with metal wheels inside of it.

  10. History Of Mice Pt.2 Six years after Engelbart made the mouse they gave it the name of “Mouse” because it had the tail that came out of it to connect to the computer.

  11. History Of Mice Pt.3 In 1968 Engelbart held a presentation to show he had made the mouse, what it was used for, and why people should use this. Because of this presentation he won an award for a great technology achievement, and he won $500,000. Later he was put into the hall of fame for inventors.

  12. History Of Mice Pt.4 • After Englebarts attempt to make a mouse a technician, Bill English, created his own mouse. But this mouse he made was not the same kind of mouse Englebarts created, his was a ball mouse, not a wheel mouse. • After completing his creation his mouse became the most successful, and most used mouse.

  13. History Of Mice Pt.5 (Final) • After Bill’s mouse the next kind of mouse that came out was a mouse that moves from the laser moving to certain new spots, sound familiar? • After Bills Prototype mouse it then went to our kinds!

  14. History Of The Keyboard Pt.1 Before the keyboard came out we had the typewriter, and that’s how people got the idea we should make a keyboard. Christopher Latham Sholes was the inventor of the keyboard for computing devices. Christopher was known for helping with the typewriters and the QWERTY keyboard.

  15. History Of The Keyboard Pt.2 The first keyboard was named the “QWERTY” keyboard, this name came from the top letters in a keyboard. The reason they continued qwerty on the keyboard is because people liked the arrangement on the typewriter and they wanted it to continue the way it was. With that information Christopher made the QWERTY.

  16. History Of The Keyboard Pt.3 • Theyre was very early sightings of an early keyboard in the early 1930’s. This was made by August Dvorak, he made the Dvorak keyboard. This keyboard was made with 9 of the most used letters in the middle, which was a problem for the public, especially for faster efficient typing.

  17. History Of The Keyboard Pt.4 (Final) • The reason why Sholes was a success was because his most used letters were spread all over the place, making it easier to type. His was the one we use today and he made his like its made because then the letters that go together are split up and it is good for faster, more efficient typing.

  18. How the mouse works. Pt.1 • The reason the mouse is so accurate is because whenever you click or move your mouse, a signal is sent to the computer and the computer reads what the mouse is moving to or what it clicked on, then it reacts.

  19. How the mouse works. Pt.2 • If you use a ball mouse the ball moves. Inside the mouse are two rollers that roll against two sides of the moving ball. One roller tracks the side-to-side motion of the mouse, and the other roller tracks the up and down motion

  20. How the keyboard works. • The keyboard has switches and circuits so that when you press a button it will be translated into the computer, and it will type in the letter you commanded it to.
