Powered Gas and Brake Control System SAE J2603 & J2604 Evaluation The first powered gas and brake systems to successfully perform SAE J2603 & J2604 Test. “The PGB system, tested first, had an average stopping distance of 24.8 feet. The OEM had an average stopping distance of 27.1 feet.” Successfully completed a life cycle test of 51043 cycles with hot soaks at 180°F & cold soaks at -40°F. Powered Gas and Brake Control System SAE J2603 & J2604 Evaluation continued “The reaction time between the PGB handle and the brake pedal was measured at Texas A&M, Texas Transportation Institute (TTI).” “A full step, ½ step, full ramp and ½ ramp functions were applied with the response measured. The response times range from 0.037 to 0.049 seconds, all within the recommended 0.1 seconds” “A 4 Hour vibration test (30 Hz, ± 1.27 mm) was set up and conducted on the lathe (1800 rpm). Remote Steering Control System SAE J2588 Evaluation The first remote steering systems to be tested against the SAE J2588 recommended test procedures. “The HLSS vehicle responded with similar performance to the OEM vehicle.” “The upper limit of 35 mph and 60 foot cone spacing taxed the OEM vehicle as much or more so than the remote steering vehicle.” Ingenium Engineering Services, December 18, 2009

Remote Steering Control System SAE J2588 Evaluation continued Successfully completed a life cycle test of 50500 cycles with hot soaks at 185°F and cold soaks at -56°F “Input at the steering wheel gives instant response at the steering control box valve and steering gear.” “A Vibration test was conducted on the HLSS steering system components using the required 30 Hz frequency and the 1.27 mm amplitude for a period of 2 hours. The HLSS steering system was reinstalled and operated for the required 10 cycles without incident” Ingenium Engineering Services, December 18, 2009

Powered Steering Backup SystemSAE J2672 Evaluation The first reduced effort steering backup systems to be tested against the SAE J2672 recommended test procedures “The Installation of the backup steering system does not compromise any crash worthiness of vehicle.” “The backup steering system components meet SAE standards.” “An electronic tester was fabricated by IDS to cycle the backup steering system electronics. 2500 cycles were conducted without failure of the backup system electrical which satisfies the SAE test requirements.” “The IDS backup steering system met the SAE technical requirements and did not introduce any new ‘single point failure forces’ (A.3.2).” Ingenium Engineering Services, December 17, 2009
