  2. Key points of this class • This “overview” will be an “open age” participative course; ending approximately December 2019. We may discuss “0ne religion” per session, or more. We will proceed according to the pace the students, and the teachers, desire. • Approximately 26 weeks (six months) of one hour sessions • Certificate of Completion will be given to persons who attend 20 or more sessions during this course

CENTRAL TENET OF THIS COURSE: • The 66 Book Holy Bible(KJV, or NIV) is the inerrant Word of God, written by 40 different men over a span of 1,500 years, inspired by God, and ascribe as Canon by bible scholars at the 1st Council of Carthage, 397 AD, and has remained virtually unchanged for over the past 1,700 years. • Per the AG Position Papers, “The Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments, are verbally inspired of God and are the revelation of God to man, the infallible, authoritative rule of faith and conduct:” (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21)” (KJV).1 • The referenced books (see References page:) are considered accurate, and up to date.

  6. The upper room experience • Where did Christianity come from? • From Jesus’ instruction. Acts 1:4 • Who started it? Jesus, and the Holy Spirit • How many people did Christianity start with? 120, who were all in one accord in the “upper room.”

  7. How did the Christianity Spread? By teachings from the Apostles, Acts 2:37-38. • How many accepted Peter’s first “altar call?” • 3,000, Acts 2:41 • What were “they” called during those first years? The “Way” • John 14:1-4, John 14:6, Acts 9: 2, Acts 18:24-25, Acts 22:4 • Which Jews rejected Jesus? The Sanhedrin, Pharisees, and Sadducees • What ethnicities accepted “Jesus?” Acts 2:5-11

Judaism: One God, Yahweh (yhwh), Elohim = Jehovah • What are the other names of God in the OT? • El Shaddai – Lord God almighty • El Elyon – The most high God • Adonai – Lord master • Tsebaoth – The Lord of hosts • Jirah – the Lord who provides • Rapha – The Lord that heals • Niss’I – The Lord my banner • Shalom – The Lord of peace • Ra-ah – the Lord my shepherd • El Olam – The everlasting God • Oanna – Jealous • El Roi – The God who sees me • Elohim – Father God the Creator • Tsuri – God is my Rock
