Beauregard (Confederate). • Effects: Started the Civil War. • Key notes: The battle lasted 33 hours, & took place at Charleston Harbor, South Carolina. The confederates won with no casualties. There were 85 Union troops, & around 500 Confederate troops. • Interesting facts: Two union soldiers died during a ceremony after the surrender, due to a cannon misfiring.
