Supplies • Examples of animations • Digital camera • Set to take photos at smallest resolution • Memory card (at least 1G) • Saves photos inside the camera • USB cable or memory card reader • Uploads photos from the camera to the computer • Tripod • Holds camera steady • Set & Characters • dolls, polymer clay, cardboard box, construction paper, printed images • iLife suite (iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand)

Process • Divide students into groups • Decide which content to animate and read or research ideas. • Create a storyboard to organize information • Stories: beginning, middle, end • Condensing info, summarizing most important parts • What visual images or symbols are most important?
Process • Create set, props, and characters or draw • Take photos using the tripod, camera, and memory card. • TIPS • Tape set and tripod for stability • Determine lighting/flash issues • Stress SMALL movements • TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES • Upload photos to iPhoto using USB cable or memory card reader.

Adding Garage Band (voice) • Open GarageBand (it will start a new project) • Double click on the Microphone • Save file and click “create” • Click Control menu to uncheck the Metronome • Use red circular record button to record • Use spacebar to stop and start playback • Click Share menu to share song to iTunes • Insert song into iMovie as described earlier
