Weeks 7/8 EdX is a great website because it offers free courses out of elite universities. Whether the courses are legitimate or not is a completely different stories. I do find it pretty incredible though that it is possible to approach different avenues of education even if you don’t have the means to compensate for one. Internet Protocol or IP is the principal communications used for relaying data across the web Internet governance is a controversial subject as to whether it should be governed by a private entity or kept free for all users meaning nothing can be censored or blocked unless otherwise illegal material Internet regulation is also controversial as to whether the internet should be regulated because it would take less freedom away from any user of the internet.
Week 9/10 • Ipc6-Ipv6 is the most revised version of the internet protocol which controls all internet communications • Net Neutrality- is the support for government regulation of internet service providers. This seems like a controversial topic because a lot of people like the freedom to search whatever they want and not have restrictions. If restrictions were implemented there my be sever repercussions from consumer backlash. • Windows 8- The current windows operating system produced by microsoft • Routing Autonomous Systems- A collections of internet protocol prefixes.
Societal Topics Weeks 11,12,13 • Privacy- Individual or group that secludes themselves. • Border Gateway-Protocol that makes core routing decisions on the internet. • Protocol (BGP)- Protocol that makes core routing decisions on the internet. • Spam- Bulks of unsolicited messages. • MOOC- A large online course that is geared towards large numbers of people. • Security- Large degree of protection to safeguard. • Standardization- process of developing and implementing technical standards.
