How Voting Works – Paper Ballots • Students vote with paper ballots at each school • Classroom teacher tallies votes • Classroom teacher sends totals to school Rep • School Rep tallies votes • School Rep sends totals to LEA Rep • LEA Rep tallies collected votes • LEA Rep sends totals to MASL • MASL tallies LEA totals to identify the winner
How It Works Online • Students vote online for BES nominees • Ballot – Picture Books • Ballot – Grade 6-9 • Votes are automatically tabulated • The Results –Picture Books • The Results – Grade 6-9 • MASL committee member accesses totals • Totals are posted to allow participating schools to disaggregate information
