Top 10 Internet & Mobile Sites: Google, Yahoo Lead in 2008 Google, Yahoo and MSN/Windows Live were the most popular websites in 2008; Yahoo Mail, Google Search and Gmail were the top mobile websites; and the Motorola RAZR V3 series was the most popular cell-phone handset, according to The Nielsen Company, which released its annual “Top 10″ internet and mobile website rankings for the year.

  3. Nielsen also released Top 10 rankings for mobile master ringtones, which play 20-30 seconds of the originally recorded song and are tracked separately from polyphonic ringtones. Lil Wayne’s Lollipop and Flo Rida’s Low were tops among mastertones this year.

  4. In terms of content downloaders in US markets, the San Francisco area, San Diego, and Austin, TX had the highest percentage of adults downloading content in 2008.
