  1. Christmas in Great Britain is the most popular holiday. It is celebrated on the 25th of December.

  2. Christians celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ.

  3. Every year the people of Norway give the city of London a present. It’s a big Christmas tree and it stands in Trafalgar Square

  4. British people send and get a lot of greeting cards. It is one of the British Christmas traditions.

  5. On Christmas Eve people go to a special church service. This service is called Midnight Mass.

  6. Before Christmas people always decorate their houses with tinsel, little coloured lights and balls.

  7. On Christmas Eve children hang stockings at the ends of their beds waiting for Santa Claus to fill them with presents.

  8. The Christmas table is very big. People eat turkey, ham, sweet potatoes, pies and other food.

  9. In England people make Christmas pudding before Christmas.

  10. A Christmas tree is a symbol of the holiday.

  11. English families trim trees outside their houses and place candles in the windows.

  12. The 26th December – Boxing Day is an extra holiday after Christmas. This day people usually give and receive presents.
