Historical Figures and Facts • Constructed by Raja Bhoj in 11th Century • Size : 31 – Sq. kms. • Water Capacity : Source of drinking water to nearly half of the Bhopal population.
Status - Cause of Concern • Receding shores • Unprecedented Deterioration • Depletion of Water resources • Shrinking shores : Shrunk appreciably this year the upper lake from its 30-odd sq. kms to around 8 sq. kms.
Why? • Increasing population • Climate changes • Deforestation • Encroachment • Shortage in rainfall • Pollution • Failure of successive Government policies and programmes
Challenges & Threats • Drinking water supply affected • Threat to Ecological balance • Irrigation affected

Wake up Call The deteriorating condition of lake is a wake up call for those who care and have concern about Bhopal and its lakes to come forward and contribute their bit to save this lifeline of Bhopal. D B Group has come forward to this wake up call and has started contributing in this noble cause.

We Care The scope of work undertaken by DB Group Desilting 3,00,000 cubic meters to create water holding capacity of 10 Cr ltrs • Project Cost : Rs. 5 crores • Equipment put into action : Pock lain : 2 JCB : 2 Dumpers : 24 • Project period : 7 months
