Rendering • Screen format ratio • Standard academy format: which is essentially a 4:3 ratio • Widescreenformat: widescreen (or 16 X 9 nches), which is a 1.85:1 format
Rendering • Resolution • Most TV and computer monitors use a 72-ppi resolution • Afull-screen image measurement of 720 X 480 pixels (or720 X 576 pixels for TV in the United Kingdom and other PAL-based regions). • High-definition screens, however, require a larger screen dimension. One ofthe most standard is 1920 X 1080 pixels. Others can be used also, as long asthey conform to a basic 16 X 9 screen ratio
Rendering • Frame rates • The standard projection rate for film is 24 fps. • On TV in theUnited States and other NTSC broadcast regions around the world, 24fps or,more usually, 30 fps is the requirement. • In the United Kingdom and other PALbroadcast regions of the world, the TVprojection rate is 25 fps. • Computersrun at 30 fps and video games at 60 fps (in this case, “ fields ” per second, whichis effectively the equivalent of 30 “ frames ” per second).
