The inGenious initiative • inGenious is the European Coordinating Body (ECB) in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) Education. • A significant initiative partially funded by European Commission FP7 Science in Society programme targeting STEM education • Budget of € 8.3 M – 50% EC funding and 50% industry partners
Aims of inGenious • To reinforce the link between school – industry collaboration by coordinating and build upon existing school and industry partnerships in the area of STEM education • To reinforce young European’s interest in STEM education and careers.
Objectives • Increase the links between STEM education and careers by involving up to 1500 classrooms across 15 European countries • Test and evaluate innovative approaches and practices targeting primary and secondary school teachers and students in STEM education.

What is a Needs Analysis? Needs Analysis: assessment tool for identifying needs and gaps, between current and desired conditions. Needs analysis within the context of inGenious: To identify the existing challenges and gaps in the current school-industry collaboration Leading to identifying the next steps to further strengthen the school-industry collaboration through recommendations and common strategies to overcome the challenges and gaps in the school-industry collaboration and thusincrease the number of young people interested in STEM education and careers
