    10. The Case for Perfection Matt 5:48: Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. 2 Cor 7:1: Since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God. 1 Thess 5:23: May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Jn 1:9: No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God's seed remains in him; he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born of God. Heb 12:14: Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord.

    11. Not so Perfect… Prov 20:9 Who can say, "I have kept my heart pure;        I am clean and without sin"? Matt 6:12 Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Eccl 7:20 There is not a righteous man on earth        who does what is right and never sins. 1 Jn 1:8 If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
