  3. Cluj-Napoca Cluj-Napoca City, county-city of Cluj, lies in the north-western part of Romania, in the centre of the historical province Transylvania. It has an area of 179,52 km and over 318000 inhabitans. In antiquity, Dacian and Romans named this settlement Napoca. The latin name Clus is mentioned for the first time in 1173. In 1974 it received the name of Cluj-Napoca. The city is crossed by the river Somesul Mic. It has a temperate continental climate. It can be found on the map of the world at the same latitude as Geneva (Switzerland) and Lyon (France). It is one of the most important economic, cultural and touristic centres in this part of Romania. Nowadays Cluj is going through a process of self-redimensioning and better putting forward its traditions and its creative potential. Here you can find a great number of romanian and foreign economic firms, centres for scientific research, institutions of culture and education carrying on their activity. The historical and architectural monuments, the theatres, the museums, the parks and the entertainment areas make sightseeing spots attractive, al through the year, to a large number of tourists from Romania and from abroad. Cluj-Napoca is a European city, with a large opening to cooperation and partnership with cities from all over the continents.

  11. “AurelVlaicu” High School ”Aurel Vlaicu” High School from Cluj-Napoca is a technological high-school institution that gathers a staff of highly prestigious teachers that ensure the educational routes necessary for the student’s acquisition of real operational qualifications and skills in order to create some active, qualified, motivated and creative characters capable of making choices and taking decisions. Our school dates back from September 1st 1980. In 2011-2012, 340 students learn in our school enrolled in the regular or evening form of studies. In the regular high-school educational, students are trained in the fields of electronics and automatisations, CAD, mechanics in order to become technical experts in calculus technology, respectively technical experts in mechanical processings.
