Things to do before the presentation • Select a strong team leader/moderator • Make sure everyone understands the presentation and their roles in it • Decide on the physical arrangements of the presenters • Provide transitions – between content and speakers • Practice, Practice, Practice • Work to improve delivery skills
Highlight each speaker Speaker takes prominence. • Step forward • Center stage • Near screen Others take less prominence. • Step back/ or aside • Sit down • Pay attention
Connect the audience to Visuals • Balance time for each visual • Use natural points of connection
Eye Contact Eye contact is one of the best ways to make your audience feel like apart of the presentation. Rule of Thumb: • Make eye contact with an audience member for 3 to 5 seconds • Or for the duration of a phrase or thought.
7 things to avoid during you presentation: • Fillers: “ah”, “um”, and “and” • Annoying movements • Too many gestures • Screaming Clothing • Sloppy editing • Turning your back • Reading!!!!!
