Global Hort: linking actors of the horticultural value chain Objective:to promote research in horticulture for development • Core activities: • Promoting horticultural R4D projects through grants • Networking dispersed horticultural communities • Facilitating training, education and capacity building • Advocacy and lobbying for horticulture
The Role of Global Hort in R4D projects • Link with donors, attract co-funding • Facilitate proposal drafting • Monitor impact and reporting to donor • Information dissemination and networking beyond the project
Requirements for R4D projects: • Multi stakeholders • Gender aware, participatory approach • Results based project planning and management
Reporting to the Donor • Half yearly report on progress of planned activities • Half yearly financial report • Using SMART indicators to measure progress
