  2. Poseidon • Lineage: -Parents: Cronus and Rhea -Spouse: Amphitrite -Siblings: Zeus and Hades • Symbol: -Poseidon was always shown carrying his trident, a three-pronged spear. He used it to destroy what ever he wanted. -Poseidon also gave man the first horse, and he was honored for it. • Powers -Poseidon was the lord and ruler of the Mediterranean sea, the Friendly sea(the Euxine, now the Black sea), and underground rivers. He commanded storms and surges of the sea.

  3. Polyphemus • Lineage: Parents: His father was Poseidon, God of the Sea. • Powers: Since he was so big, he is super strong. • Weakness: He was not that bright. • Important Events: Polyphemus captured Odysseus and his crew. Then later on was tricked and blinded by Odysseus.

  4. Tethys • Lineage: Tethys is the sister and wife of Oceanus. She is known as the mother of the Nile river. • Symbol: Tethys is represented of the “Mother of Rivers”. River like the Nile, and the Alpheus River. • Powers: Tethys didn’t really have powers she was just a embodiment of the sea • Weaknesses: Tethys really didn’t have a weakness, like referred to before, she is just a embodiments of water

Ocean • Lineage: Ocean is a divine god personified as a enormous river circling the sea. • Powers: Oceanus is a titan with the ability to control rivers, lakes, ponds etc. he also had the ability to control the rising and setting of the sun. • Weaknesses: Oceanus really didn’t have a weakness except his wife, Tethys. • Identification: Oceanus can be identified by the Atlantic Ocean. Created: Oceanus was the Titan god or Protogenos (primeval deity) of the great earth-encircling river Okeanos, the font of all the earth’s freshwater. The Sirens • Lineage: There were three Sirens: Clotho, the Spinner, who spun the thread of life; Lachesis, the Disposer of Lots, who assigned to each man his destiny; Astropos, she who could not be turned, who carried “the abhorred shears” and cut the thread at death. • Symbol: dangerous temptation, enchanting yet fatal voice that could kill oneself with it’s loveliness • Weakness: Drowning out their lovely fatal voices stopped the Sirens to catch a victim for death. • Powers: The Sirens had enchanting voices and their singing lured sailors to their death. • Identification: It was not known what they looked like, for no one who saw them ever returned.
