Introduction : PG707 Positioning • ToR (Terms of Reference) of PG707 • Evaluate for proposed RIT/SRIT of IMT-Advanced • Develop evaluation report / Submit evaluation report to ITU-R • Cooperate and coordinate with international/domestic standardization • bodies related to evaluation • ITU-R WP5D, 3GPPs, IEEE 802, SDOs

PG707 Work Scope • Evaluation Targets • 3GPP LTE-Advanced • Contributions from Individual Members(IM) for 3GPP self-evaluation. • PG707 internal evaluation to be harmonized with IM’s contributions. • IEEE 802.16m • Contributions from Individual Members(IM) for IEEE self-evaluation. • PG707 internal evaluation to be harmonized with IM’s contributions. • (WG7028 under PG702 are preparing Self Evaluation as a proponent) • Evaluation Scope • Full scale evaluation for FDD /TDD of 802.16m • Full scale evaluation for FDD of LTE-Advanced • Confirm performance reported by the proponent
3. Activities on Evaluation • Submission of the preliminary evaluation reports • As an IEG of WP5D, TTA PG707 submitted two preliminary evaluation reports on the candidate IMT-Advanced (s)RITs in the 7th meeting of WP5D. • (5D/652) 3GPP LTE Release 10 & beyond (LTE-Advanced) • (5D/653) Based on IEEE 802.16 • We focused on the simulation works • Cell spectral efficiency • Cell edge-user spectral efficiency • VoIP capacity • Our simulation results have similar values from proponent's self evaluation results which meet the minimum requirement of IMT-Advanced technology
3. Activities on Evaluation • Drafting Group (DG) Activities • We have organized two sub-DGs for developing the evaluation reports • IEEE Sub-DG • LTE Sub-DG • The evaluation report will be made based on the contributions from IMs • We have conducted simulation works based on the simulation configuration presented in the proponent's self-evaluation • Assessments by analysis and inspection are considered • Verify the results based on the proponent’s self-evaluation and discussion results of the Correspondence Group of WP5D
3. Activities on Evaluation • Schedule for developing the evaluation reports • 05 December 2009: 1st call for the evaluation results • 31 December 2009: Develop the initial preliminary evaluation reports • 29 January 2010: Finalize the preliminary evaluation reports • February 10 2010: Submit the preliminary evaluation reports to ITU-R • 30 April 2010: 2nd call to the participants for the final evaluation. • 28 May 2010: Finalize the final evaluation report • 02 June 2010: Submit the final evaluation report to ITU-R

Activities on Evaluation • Participation in the 2nd workshop and meeting • As an IEG of WP5D, TTA PG707 participated in the following workshop and meeting • IEEE 802.16 IMT-Advanced Evaluation Group Coordination Meeting (May 17, 2010, Beijing, China) • 3GPP LTE-Advanced Evaluation Workshop (May 18, 2010, Beijing, China) • TTA PG707 presented on a status and final result of evaluation for two candidate IMT-Advanced (s)RITs.
4. Future Plans : PG707 • Finalization and submission of the final evaluation reports • As an IEG of WP5D, TTA PG707 will submit final evaluation reports on two candidate IMT-Advanced (S)RITs to the 8th meeting of WP5D • Full scale evaluation (Analysis, Inspection, Simulation) including, • Compliance template for services • Compliance template for spectrum • Compliance template for technical performance • Update the Simulation Results • Full buffer performance • Mobility performance
