  1. Omronhealthcare-ap.com (AU) Blood Pressure Readings: 5 Common Mistakes People Make In countries like Australia, blood pressure monitors have become quite famous among people. With the ongoing pandemic situation all over the world, people have now become even more aware of their health; and have started buying medical equipment for home. Blood pressure monitors in Australia can be bought from both online and offline stores, depending upon one’s choice and convenience. With so many people using blood pressure monitors in Australia and other parts of the world, it becomes pivotal to bring to light the mistakes which they seldom make while reading the blood pressure. These mistakes often lead to wrong results, which further leads to wrong analysis and eventually wrong medication. This all might even lead to an individual’s death; therefore, one must be careful about these when using a blood pressure monitor at home.  Incorrect cuff placement: the cuff should be placed at the upper arm, at the mid-heart level. The cuff should touch the skin and should be properly tightened to enable blood pressure.  Incorrect position of the patient: a seated upright position is the most accurate one when it comes to getting the correct blood pressure readings. And the arm should remain at the patient’s side. Even if the patient is lying down or is in any other position the arm should be at the patient’s side, otherwise correct measurement would not be done.  Using wrong-sized cuff: the size of the cuff should be appropriate for measuring the blood pressure, if the individual uses a small-sized cuff would give high readings and a too-large cuff would give small readings.  Having a full bladder: one should empty one’s bladder before taking the blood pressure readings.  One should remain calm and silent while getting blood pressure measured, too much talking or movement would lead to higher readings.
