West Coburg Junior Football Club & West Coburg Senior Football ClubAmalgamationInformation Session 24/7/13 Reasons for Amalgamation • Reflects a community club approach – opportunities for people of all ages & abilities • Continuity from junior football to senior football • Senior football knowledge & experience support for junior football development • Greater sponsorship potential • Greater fundraising capacity • Much stronger advocacy for improved facilities and support from Council • Single voice & representation with EDFL, Council, Sports Club, etc. • EDFL strongly supportive of single junior & senior club structures • Reduce administrative duplication & consistent club communication • Access assistance from a larger pool of volunteers • A senior club is not viable without a junior club • A junior club requires a viable senior club for an ongoing place in the EDFL
West Coburg Junior Football Club & West Coburg Senior Football ClubAmalgamationInformation Session 24/7/13 • Consumer Affairs Requirements • Special General Meetings of each club – 21 days notice • Special Resolution • Quorum & Vote • Application to Amalgamate • Rules of Association & “Statement of Purposes” The purposes of the association are to provide the opportunity to play Australian Rules Football at Auskick, junior and senior football levels. Participants in “on” and “off” field activities will have the opportunity to develop football skills, leadership capability and team skills, and experience success appropriate to the level of football played. As a community football club our focus will be on including all people interested in our activities which aim to contribute to personal wellbeing through active participation and values which emphasise respect, responsibility and enjoyment.
West Coburg Junior Football Club & West Coburg Senior Football ClubAmalgamationInformation Session 24/7/13 Guiding Principles - Financial Arrangements The WCFC will manage its financial responsibilities based on the following guiding principles; • Annual operating expenditure will be funded fully from annual income sources. • Funds relating to approved budgets for junior football activities and senior football activities will operate from separate sub-account to ensure transparency and accountability. • Separate profits & loss reports from junior activities and senior activities will be reviewed by the Club committee at the end of the financial year for ratification and redistribution of funds to reserves as required • Club financial reserves will fund non-operational expenditure and target club development activities. • Fee levels will reflect club operating costs.

Members’ years of service with the amalgamating associations will be recognised by the amalgamated association.
